Basic Life Support


The American Heart Association’s® BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who are required to learn CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.


This course teaches...

  • Prompt recognition of several life-threatening emergencies

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children and infants

  • Delivery of appropriate ventilations

  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction

  • Important early use of an AED

  • The importance of multi-rescuer resuscitation

All course content reflects science and education from The American Heart Association® Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

Flexible Online Learning Options

 

 HeartCode® classes combine online learning
with a hands-on skills session.

 

 How it works...

  1. Complete the 1-2 hour online portion of the course at your own pace.

  2. Attend a hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor
    to ensure CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) skills competence.
