Pediatric Advanced Life Support


The American Heart Association’s® PALS Course is designed for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.


This course teaches...

  • • High-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Application of team dynamics

  • Differentiation between respiratory distress and failure

  • The need to perform early interventions

  • Differentiation between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock.

  • Differentiation between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias

  • The clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias

  • How to implement post–cardiac arrest management

 

All course content reflects science and education from The American Heart Association® Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

 HeartCode® classes combine online learning
with a hands-on skills session.

 

 How it works...

  1. Complete the online portion of the course at your own pace.

  2. Attend a hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor
    to ensure CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) skills competence.
